The Arts and Humanities Society (formerly LRAC)

About us

The Arts and Humanities Society (formerly the London Region Arts Club) is a non profit making club run by a voluntary group of past and present Open University students who give their time to support Open University students all over the U.K. and beyond. We are affiliated to the Open University Students Association.

We offer lectures, study days, workshops, museum and gallery visits … and much, much more! Although our events are tailored for Open University students, many are of general interest.

Note: We are not part of the Open University and our study days, workshops, museum and gallery visits do not form part of Open University courses.

Get in touch

Please do get in touch. We’re keen to hear your ideas about how we can support Open University arts and humanities students. Plus, we’re always looking for volunteers to join our friendly Committee to help us continue organising tours and study days. Contact us or join our growing community on Facebook and Twitter. You can also see some of our latest online lectures on our YouTube channel.

Partnerships

We are delighted to be collaborating with the Open University History Society – with members throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe and the USA – which promotes the scholarly study of history amongst Open University students past and present. For more information please go to www.ouhistory.org.uk

We occasionally offer short study breaks which, in the past, have included Hadrian’s Wall and Pompeii. For more details, please see our travel partner’s website Siragusa Tours Ltd.
